The author studies the space of Cartan connections on a proper regular groupoid. He simplifies his study using the close relationship between this type of Cartan connections and representations of the groupoid on its own longitudinal bundle. He introduces a large number of examples to illustrate the possible obstructions to the existence of multiplicative connections.
