This article is part of a project of constructing nonunitary representations of groups of currents with coefficients in semisimple groups. Here, the case of the groups \(\mathrm{SU}(p,q)\) is considered. Groups of currents are groups of mappings of manifolds into finite-dimensional Lie groups. In general the purpose of this project is to give a construction of representations of the group of currents for all semisimple groups of rank \(>1\). Such groups have no unitary representations in the Fock space, since the semisimple groups of this form have no nontrivial cohomology in faithful irreducible representations. Constructions of a cocycle in a nonunitary representation of the Iwasawa subgroup of \(U(p, q)\) are given. Also the structure of the Iwasawa groups is described in detail. Then, the aforementioned representation and the cocycle are extended. The construction of the quasi-Poisson model of a representation of the \(U(p,q)\)-currents is given. It is noted by the authors that this construction is ''sketched in broad strokes and will be considered in detail later''.
