The paper deals with the sum of squares operators \[ P(x,D):=\sum\limits_{j=1}^{N}X_{j}(x,D)^{2}, \] where \(X_{j}(x,D),j=1,\dots,N\in \mathbb{N},\)\ are real vector fields with real analytic coefficients defined in open set of \(\mathbb{R}^{n}.\) It is assumed that the vector fields satisfy the well-known Hörmander's condition \((H)\)\ for the \(C^{\infty }\)\ hypoellipticity of \(P(x,D).\) Then the authors prove results giving sufficient conditions such that the perturbed operator \[ P(x,D)+Q(x,D), \] remains Gevrey hypoelliptic or analytic hypoelliptic at \((x_{0},\xi _{0}),\) where \(Q(x,D)\)\ is real analytic pseudodifferential operator with order strictly less than an index of subellipticity.
