On generalized \(G_2\)-structures and \(T\)-duality (Q1664006)

The authors study some special class of generalized \(G_2\)-structures obtained as a consequence of a \(T\)-dual construction given in [the first author et al., J. High Energy Phys. 2018, No. 5, Paper No. 153, 25 p. (2018; Zbl 1391.83122)]. Recall that generalized \(G_2\)-structures generalize the classical concept of \(G_2\)-structure and were introduced by \textit{F. Witt} [Comm. Math. Phys., 265, 2, 275--303 (2006; Zbl 1154.53014)]. As an application, the authors produce generalized \(G_2\)-structures on certain \(7\)-dimensional manifolds. In particular, they obtain manifolds admitting closed generalized \(G_2\)-structures not admitting closed (usual) \(G_2\)-structures.
