The paper under review analyzes some features of a family of regular functions defined on the algebra \(\mathbb{H}_\mathbb{R}\) of split-quaternions. After the introduction, the authors give a description of the algebra \(\mathbb{H}_\mathbb{R}\) and then solve the Gleason problem for regular functions of a split-quaternion variable. In particular they find, in this context, Fueter-like variables. Then they study matrices with \(\mathbb{H}_\mathbb{R}\) entries and a suitable notion of positivity. With this tool they define and study Hermitian kernels and Krein spaces of regular functions.
