With the background of Generalized Topological Spaces (GTSs in short), as introduced by Á. Császár, the authors consider generalized submaximal spaces (submaximal GTSs in short) -- a concept introduced by Ekici as follows: a GTS \((X, \mu)\) is said to be generalized submaximal if each \(\mu\)-dense subset of \((X, \mu)\) is a \(\mu\)-open set; some necessary and sufficient conditions for a GTS to be submaximal are proved using the concept of \(\mu\)-co-locally closed sets, \(\mu\)-closed sets, \(\mu\)-codense sets etc. \smallskip Defining \(\mu\)-\( G_{\delta}\)-sets and \(\mu\)-\(F_{\sigma}\)-sets in the usual fashion, the authors define a \(Q\)-set GTS \((X, \mu)\) as one in which every subset is a \(\mu\)-\(G_{\delta}\)-set; \(Y\subset X\) is called a \(\mu\)-\(Q\)-set if \((Y, \mu_{Y})\) is a \(Q\)-set GTS and is called a \(\mu\)-\(Q^{\ast}\)-set if every subset of \(Y\) is a \(\mu\)-\( F_{\sigma}\)-set in \(X\). \smallskip To bring a new concept, a GTS is called generalized \(G_{\delta}\)-submaximal if every \(\mu\)-dense subset of \(X\) is a \(\mu\)-\(G_{\delta}\)-set; some necessary and sufficient conditions for \(X\) to be generalized \(G_{\delta}\)-submaximal are provided keeping in view the definition of a \(\mu\)-\(Q^{\ast}\)-set; some separation axioms for a GTS are taken into account and it is shown that every \(G_{\delta}\)-submaximal and consequently every submaximal GTS is \(\mu T_{1/2}\). Finally it is shown that for an almost countably infinite GTS \((X, \mu)\), the space is generalized \(G_{\delta}\)-submaximal iff it is \(\mu T_{1/2}\).
