In the reviewed paper the authors study weakly cyclic \(Z\)-symmetric spacetimes. Let \((M^n,g)\) be a Riemannian or semi-Riemannian manifold. A tensor \(Z\) given by \(Z(X,Y)=S(X,Y)+\phi g(X,Y)\), where \(S\) is the Ricci tensor and \(\phi\) is a function, is called a generalized \(Z\)-tensor. A non-flat manifold \((M^n,g)\) is called weakly cyclic \(Z\)-symmetric if the generalized \(Z\)-tensor satisfies the condition \[ \begin{aligned} &(\nabla_XZ)(U,V)+(\nabla_UZ)(V,X)+(\nabla_VZ)(X,U)\\ &= A(X)Z(U,V)+B(U)Z(V,X)+D(V)Z(X,U)\,, \end{aligned} \] where \(A\), \(B\) and \(D\) are 1-forms. The authors prove that a weakly cyclic \(Z\)-symmetric spacetime is a quasi-Einstein spacetime. Next the authors consider the case when \(\operatorname{div} C=0\), where \(C\) is the Weyl conformal curvature tensor. They show that if additionally the scalar curvature \(r\) of such weakly cyclic spacetime satisfies the condition \(r=-\phi\), then this spacetime is locally a product space.
