The author proves a special case of the conjecture proposed by \textit{D. Maulik} and \textit{R. Pandharipande} [Topology 45, No. 5, 887--918 (2006; Zbl 1112.14065)]. Namely, let \(Q\) be a quintic threefold in \(\mathbb{P}^{4}.\) The system of equations obtained from the degeneration formula and the Maulik-Pandharipande's algorithm can be used to determine both the relative theory of the pair \((\mathbb{P}^{4},Q)\) and the Gromov-Witten invariants of \(N_{g,d}\) of \(Q\) when \(g=2,3\).
