The authors start from the known result stating that Busemann's intersection inequality for convex bodies in \(\mathbb{R}^n\) is sharp only in case of centered ellipsoids. They move into the hyperbolic space \(\mathbb{H}^n\) and on an hemisphere \(\mathbb{S}^{n}_{+}\). The main result referring to the hyperbolic space \(\mathbb{H}^n\) identifies the centered balls as the unique maximizers of the integral in Busemann's intersection inequality in the class of star bodies of a fixed volume. The lunes are identified to be the unique maximizers of this integral in the class of origin-symmetric convex bodies in \(\mathbb{S}^{2}_{+}\). In \(\mathbb{S}^{n}_{+}\), with \(n\geq 3\), centered balls are neither maximizers nor minimizers even in the class of origin-symmetric convex bodies. Optimal lower bound for this integral in the class of star bodies of a given volume in \(\mathbb{S}^{n}_{+}\), \(n\geq 3\), is obtained and the equality case is described. Finally, the authors prove a version of Busemann's intersection inequality for general measures in \(\mathbb{R}^n\) and \(\mathbb{H}^n\) and study the equality case.
