Starting from some parameters concerning the scalar data, appearing in a work published by \textit{T. J. Stieltjes} as early as 1894 [Toulouse Ann. 8, J1--J122 (1894; JFM 25.0326.01)], and generalized by \textit{Yu. M. Dyukarev} [Visn. Khark. Univ., Ser. Mat. Prykl. Mat. Mekh. 458, 143--153 (1999; Zbl 0956.30016)] for matrix data, the author investigates the existence of a multiplicative decomposition of the resolvent matrix of a non-degenerate truncated Hausdorff matrix moment problem, generalizing, in turn, Dyukarev's representation. Other results, as for instance a new representation of the Christoffel-Darboux kernel, are also obtained.
