Denote by \(U'(\mathfrak{g})\) a quantum affine algebra, by \(J\) the set of pairs of good \(U'(\mathfrak{g})\)-modules and invertible elements in \(\mathbb{C}(q)\), and by \(R^J(\beta)\) the Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier (KLR) algebra (sometimes called quiver Hecke algebra) for \(\beta\in Q^+\). In this paper a functor \(\mathcal{F}_\beta\) from the category of graded \(R^J(\beta)\)-modules to the category of \(U'(\mathfrak{g})\)-modules is constructed. This function functor has the following important properties: (1) \(\mathcal{F}:=\bigoplus_{\beta\in Q^+} \mathcal{F}_\beta\) is a tensor functor, (2) \(\mathcal{F}_\beta\) is exact if \(R^J(\beta)\) is of finite type \(A\), \(D\), \(E\). In the \(A^{(1)}_{N-1}\)-case, if \(J=\{(V(\varpi_1),q^{2i})|i\in\mathbb{Z}\}\), where \(V(\varpi_1)\) is the fundamental representation of \(U'(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_N)\) of weight \(\varpi_1\), then the corresponding KLR algebra is of type \(A_\infty\) and the functor \(\mathcal{F}_n:=\bigoplus_{|\beta|=n} \mathcal{F}_\beta\) recovers the quantum affine Schur-Weyl duality. The functor \(\mathcal{F}\) restricts to a functor from \(\mathcal{A}:=\bigoplus_{\beta\in Q^+}R^J(\beta)\)-gmod (where \(R^J(\beta)\)-gmod denotes the category of finite-dimensional graded \(R^J(\beta)\)-modules) to a certain full subcategory \(\mathcal{C}_J\) of the category \(\mathcal{C}_{\mathfrak g}\) of finite-dimensional integrable \(U'(\mathfrak{g})\)-modules, which is shown to factor through a tensor category denoted by \(\mathcal{T}_J\). It is shown that \(\mathcal{F}\) induces a ring isomorphism be the Grothendieck rings of \(\mathcal{T}_J\) and \(\mathcal{C}_J\). It follows that \(\mathcal{T}_J\) provides a \(\mathbb{Z}\)-graded lifting of \(\mathcal{C}_J\) as a rigid tensor category.
