The paper studies the existence of invariant manifolds of the planar Nagylaki-Crow fertility-mortality model from population genetics. Under a certain conditions on the parameters of the system, the existence of a nonmonotone invariant manifold has been proven that is a graph of o convex function. The results have been obtained using a change of dynamical variables without the common assumption that fertilities or death rates are additive, and are not restricted to the case that the model is competitive in the new coordinates. The authors also provide numerical examples demonstrating that the manifold need not to be the graph of a convex function, smooth, unique or globally attracting, and that the model exhibits a sequence of nonmonotone manifolds similar to those studied by \textit{M. W. Hirsch} for competitive Kolmogorov systems [Nonlinearity 1, No. 1, 51--71 (1988; Zbl 0658.34024)].
