The mean dimension is a topological invariant of dynamical systems counting the number of parameters averaged by dynamics, see [\textit{M. Gromov}, Math. Phys. Anal. Geom. 2, No. 4, 323--415 (1999; Zbl 1160.37322)]. Recall that Brody curves are Lipschitz holomorphic maps \(f: \mathbb{C} \longrightarrow \mathbb{C} P^N\), and the space of all Brody curves \(\mathcal{M}(\mathbb{C} P^N)\) endowed with the compact-open topology is compact. The group \(\mathbb{C}\) continuously acts on it by \[ \mathbb{C} \times \mathcal{M}(\mathbb{C} P^N) \longrightarrow \mathcal{M}(\mathbb{C} P^N), \;\;\;\big( a,f(z) \big) \longmapsto f(z+a). \] The subject of the paper is the dynamics of this action. The space \(\mathcal{M}(\mathbb{C} P^N)\) is infinite-dimensional, and the topological entropy of the \(\mathbb{C}\)-action is also infinite. The author solves this problem by proving the exact mean dimension formula. The formula expresses the mean dimension by the energy density of Brody curves \[ \rho(f) := \lim _{R \to \infty} \Big( \frac{1}{ \pi R^2} \sup_{a \in \mathbb{C}} \int_{| z -a | < R} | df |^2 dx dy \;\Big). \] The author proves that the above limit always exists and defines \(\rho (\mathbb{C} P^N) \) as the supremun over \( f \in \mathcal{M}(\mathbb{C} P^N)\). Main result. The mean dimension satisfies \[ \mathrm{dim} \big( \mathcal{M}(\mathbb{C} P^N ): \mathbb{C} \big) = 2(N+1) \rho(\mathbb{C} P^N). \] A remaining interesting problem is the explicit calculation of \(\rho(\mathbb{C} P^N)\) for small \(N\). As a key novel ingredient, the work uses an information theoretic approach to the mean dimension introduced by \textit{E. Lindenstrauss} and \textit{B. Weiss} [Isr. J. Math. 115, 1--24 (2000; Zbl 0978.54026)].
