Let \(G\) be an abelian group and \(K\) be an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. If \(R\) is a \(G\)-graded \(K\)-algebra of upper block-triangular matrices, there is an upper block-triangular matrix algebra \(A\) with an elementary \(G\)-grading and a matrix algebra \(B\) with a division \(G\)-grading such that \(R\) is graded isomorphic to \(A\otimes B\). This result has been previously shown for finite abelian groups \(G\) and the authors show it without requiring that \(G\) is finite. The authors also show that the graded identities of an algebra \(A\otimes B,\) where \(A\) and \(B\) are as above, determine the algebra uniquely up to a graded isomorphism in case of elementary grading and under some suitable assumptions.
