The authors investigate the regularity of the topological entropy of maps from the quadratic family $f_a(x) = x^2 + a,$ $ a\in \left[-2,\frac{1}{4}\right]$. They provide an exact formula for the Hölder exponent of the topological entropy $h$ given in terms of the value of $h$ itself and the Lyapunov exponent $\lambda(a)$ of the critical value. They extend Guckenheimer's Hölder continuity result to the entire quadratic family. The authors prove that for $f_a : x \mapsto x^2 + a$, then $\mu_{\max}^{a}= \mu_{\text{acip}}^{a}$ if and only if $a = -2$, where $\mu_{\max}$ is the measure of maximal entropy and $\mu_{\text{acip}}$ is the absolutely continuous invariant probability (acip). They obtain the Hausdorff dimension of some given sets. The authors show that certain sets of parameters have large measure. Then, they study the relation between the topological entropy $h(a)$ and the Lyapunov exponent $\lambda(a)$. The authors prove that $s \mapsto h_{\text{top}}(g_s ),$ $ s\mapsto \mu^{g_s}_{\max},$ $s\mapsto \chi (\mu^{g_s}_{\max})$ are continuous, where $s\mapsto g_s$ is a continuous one-parameter family of $S$-unimodal maps with positive entropy. It is shown that the entropy function is uniformly Hölder continuous for the quadratic family. Lastly, the uniform Hölder continuity for the entire quadratic family is studied. The authors prove that the entropy function $h$ is uniformly Hölder continuous for the quadratic family.
