The nonlinear partial differential equation associated to the intermediate \(L^p\) Christoffel-Minkowski problem in case \(1 < p < k + 1\) is studied from two points of view: the existence of a smooth generalized convex solution, and the regularity of general admissible solutions. Existence and uniqueness theorems referring to strictly spherically convex solutions are given and smoothness properties of these solutions are deduced and illustrated by examples. A priori estimates for admissible solutions are deduced: gradient estimate, upper bound of positive admissible solutions, lower bound of positive even spherically convex solution. Theorems of \(C^2\) regularity estimates for admissible solutions are obtained in case \(p\geq \frac{k+1}{2}\).
