For a Lorenz-like expanding map \(L:[0,1] \setminus \{d\} \rightarrow [0,1]\), the authors prove there is an open and dense subset \(\mathcal{H}\) of the set of piecewise Hölder continuous potentials of \([0,1]\) in the \(C^0\) topology such that each \(\phi \in \mathcal{H}\) admits a unique equilibrium state. They achieve this by adapting a result of \textit{J. Buzzi} and \textit{O. Sarig} [Ergodic Theory Dyn. Syst. 23, No. 5, 1383--1400 (2003; Zbl 1037.37005)]. The authors point out that their result mildly improves on one of \textit{M. Denker} et al. [Stud. Math. 97, No. 1, 27--36 (1990; Zbl 0715.28014)].
