This paper represents a brief survey on the classical Weierstrass representation of minimal surfaces in three-dimensional manifolds, including but not limited to the three-dimensional Euclidean space, the three-dimensional Lorentz-Minkowski space; the Heisenberg group; the hyperbolic space, the de-Sitter space.
