      The authors define the \((p, q)\)-trigonometric functions as follows: For \(x\in [0,1]\), \[ \arcsin_{p,q}x=\int_{0}^{x}(1-t^q)^{-1/p}\,dt=x\,F(1/p, 1/q;1+1/q;x^q) \] and \(\arccos_{p,q}x=\arcsin_{p,q}((1-x^p)^{1/q})\). Also \[ \text{arsinh}_{p,q}x=\int_{0}^{x}(1+t^q)^{-1/p}\,dt=x\,F(1/p, 1/q;1+1/q;-x^q), \] where \(F(a,b;c;z)\) is the Gaussian hypergeometric function. Their inverse functions are \[ \sin_{p,q}:(0,\pi_{p,q}/2)\mapsto(0,1), \quad \cos_{p,q}:(0,\pi_{p,q}/2)\mapsto(0,1),\quad \pi_{p,q}=\int_{0}^{1}(1-t^q)^{-1/p}\,dt, \] \[ \sinh_{p,q}:(0,m_{p,q})\mapsto(0,1), \qquad m_{p,q}=\frac{1}{2^{1/p}}\,F(1, 1/p;1+1/q;1/2). \] When \(p=q=2\) these \((p,q)\) functions coincide with the familiar elementary functions. The authors prove several inequalities involving the functions \(\arcsin_{p,q}x, \; \text{arsinh}_{p,q}x, \; \sin_{p,q}x, \sinh_{p,q}x\) and present a few conjectures for such functions.
