Recall that the Bloch space \({\mathcal B}\) is defined to be the set of all analytic functions \(f\) on the open unit disc \({\mathbb D}\) that satisfy the condition \[ \sup_{z \in {\mathbb D}} (1-|z|^2) |f^\prime(z)| < \infty. \] \textit{J. Arazy} [Multipliers of Bloch functions. University of Haifa Mathematics Publications 54 (1982)], and independently, \textit{L. Brown} and \textit{A. L. Shields} [Mich. Math. J. 38, No. 1, 141--146 (1991; Zbl 0749.30023)] characterized the boundedness of a multiplication operator \(M_\psi\) on the Bloch space: the symbol \(\psi\) must be bounded on \({\mathbb D}\) and it must satisfy the condition \[ \sup_{z \in {\mathbb D}} (1-|z|^2) |\psi^\prime(z)| \log \frac{2}{1-|z|} < \infty. \] The set \({\mathcal B}_{\log}\) of all analytic functions that satisfy the above condition is known as the logarithmic Bloch space. \textit{T. Hosokawa} and \textit{Nguyen Quang Dieu} [Nihonkai Math. J. 20, No. 1, 57--72 (2009; Zbl 1200.47032)] extended the notion of the logarithmic Bloch space by introducing a sequence of weights on \({\mathcal B}_{\log}\) and constructing a sequence of Banach spaces \({\mathcal LB}^n\) such that \({\mathcal LB}^1= {\mathcal B}_{\log}\) and such that the symbols of the weighted composition operators on \({\mathcal LB}^n\) are the bounded analytic functions in \({\mathcal LB}^{n+1}.\) Recently, the last two authors [Integral Equations Oper. Theory 68, No. 3, 391--411 (2010; Zbl 1222.47046)] introduced the Lipschitz space \({\mathcal L}\) on a tree and they showed that it can be given a Banach space structure. Recall that a tree is a locally finite, connected and simply connected graph, and a function on a tree is a complex valued function defined on the set of its vertices. The Lipschitz space on a tree is a natural discrete analogue of the Bloch space, since it is a well-known fact that \(f \in {\mathcal B}\) if and only if \(f\) satisfies a Lipschitz condition with respect to the hyperbolic metric on the unit disc. The characterization of the boundedness of multiplication operators on the Lipschitz space of a tree led the authors [J. Oper. Theory 69, No. 1, 209--231 (2013; Zbl 1275.47069)] to introduce the weighted Lipschitz space \({\mathcal L}_w\) on a tree, which can also be given a Banach space structure. It turns out that in analogy with the logarithmic Bloch spaces, the functions in the weighted Lipschitz space are precisely the symbols that induce bounded multiplication operators on \({\mathcal L}.\) The paper under review deals with the sequence \({\mathcal L}^n\) of iterated logarithmic Lipschitz spaces on a tree and the multiplication operators defined on them. In Section 2, the authors define the sequence of iterated logarithmic Lipschitz spaces on a tree and they show that they can be given a Banach space structure. In Section 3, they characterize boundedness of a multiplication operator on \({\mathcal L}^n\) and they give norm estimates. In Section 4, they show that the point spectrum is a dense subset of the spectrum. They also show that the spectrum and the approximate point spectrum are equal to the closure of the range of the symbol, and they obtain a characterization of the bounded multiplication operators that are bounded from below. In Section 5, they show that among the multiplication operators on \({\mathcal L}^n\) there are no nontrivial isometries and no isometric zero divisors. In Section 6, they provide a characterization of the compact multiplication operators on \({\mathcal L}^n.\) Finally, in Section 7 they provide upper and lower estimates on the essential norm of a multiplication operator on \({\mathcal L}^n.\)
