This paper considers a class of exponential weights on \((-a,a)\) with \(a=1\) or \(a=\infty\), which includes many weights used in the literature (Freud, Erdős, Pollaczek, etc.). If \(\chi_n\) denotes the set of zeroes of the corresponding orthogonal polynomials of degree \(n\), and \(L_nf\) the Lagrange interpolation polynomial of degree \(n-1\) of a function \(f\) with interpolation nodes \(\chi_n\), the authors study the pointwise convergence of \(L_nf\) and its derivatives towards the corresponding ones of \(f\) when \(n\) tends to \(\infty\). The error estimates provided have some interest in the study of the stability of the numerical solutions of some singular integral equations on \((-a,a)\) which arise in some practical applications as earthquake shocks.
