The ray pattern of a complex matrix \(A\) is the matrix \(\text{ray}(A)\) obtained from \(A\) by replacing each nonzero \(a_{ij}\) by \(a_{ij}/| a_{ij}| \). Let \(Q(A)=\{B\mid \text{ray}(B)=\text{ray}(A)\}\). \(A\) is called ray nonsingular if each \(B\in Q(A)\) is nonsingular. This is a complex generalization of sign nonsingular (\(SNS\)) real matrices. Another complex generalization of an \(SNS\) matrix is a determinantal ray unique (\(DRU\)) matrix (\(A\) is \(DRU\) iff \(\arg\det B=\arg\det A\) for all \(B\in Q(A)\)). \(A\) is called a ray \(S^2NS\) if \(A\) is ray nonsingular and \(\text{ray}(B^{-1})=\text{ray}(A^{-1})\) for each \(B\in Q(A)\). Some known results concerning real \(SNS\) and \(S^2NS\) matrices are generalized to complex \(SNS\), \(DRU\) and \(S^2NS\) matrices.
