The concept of interaction antieigenvalue, introduced by the author in [Inequalities III, Proc., Los Angeles 1969, 115--119 (1972; Zbl 0292.47007)], is made precise within the author's theory of operator trigonometry, then used to refine an inequality of \textit{W. Greub} and \textit{W. Rheinboldt} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 10, 407--415 (1959; Zbl 0093.12405)] and to give an operator trigonometric formulation of results of \textit{J. G. Stampfli} [Pac. J. Math. 33, 737--747 (1970; Zbl 0197.10501)] and \textit{W. G. Strang} [Am. Math. Mon. 69, 37--40 (1962; Zbl 0101.25401)].
