The author studied in his previous paper [Squares in triangles, Math. Gazette 86, 28--34 (2002)] when a square fits in a triangle. In the paper under review he obtains necessary and sufficient conditions for a rectangle with sides \(u,\;v\;\;(u:v\leq 1)\) to fit in a triangle with sides \(a\geq b \geq c > 0\). The cases of acute, right and obtuse triangles are considered and some interesting consequences are noted.
