The paper studies existence and uniqueness problems of electromagnetic scattering problems by complicated structures. The medium in a finite domain \(Q\) is specified by dielectric and permeability tensor functions and lies inside a domain with constant isotropic medium characteristics. The problem to find the electromagnetic field induced by an external field in the outer domain is transformed to a system of singular integral equations for the electromagnetic field in \(Q\). The author provides sufficient conditions ensuring that the corresponding operator is Fredholm with index \(0\) in \(L_2^6(Q)\) and that the solution of the integral equation is the classical solution of the scattering problem.
