      Given a summable sequence \(\{a(i)\}_{i\in Z^d}\), consider the infinite matrix \(A= (A(i,j))_{i,j\in Z^d}= (a(i-j))_{i,j\in Z^d}\). For \(p\in [1,\infty]\) and \(\alpha \in R\) the matrix algebra \(Q_{p,\alpha}\) is defined to consist of all such matrices for which \[ \| A\| _{p,\alpha}:= \sup_{i\in Z^d} \| (A(i,j)(1+| i-j| ^\alpha)_{j\in Z^d}\| _{\ell^p}+\sup_{j\in Z^d} \| (A(i,j)(1+| i-j| ^\alpha)_{i\in Z^d}\| _{\ell^p}<\infty. \] Assume that \(\alpha> d(1-1/p)\). The main result proves that if \(A\in Q_{p,\alpha}\) and \(A^{-1}\) is bounded, then \(A^{-1}\in Q_{p,\alpha}\).
