In this paper, the author goes over again, from the point of view of Pfaffian systems, some of the main results of the joint paper with \textit{G. Cotti} and \textit{B. Dubrovin} [``Isomonodromy deformations at an irregular singularity with coalescing eigenvalues'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:1706.04808}], relevant to the non-generic isomonodromic deformations of a certain linear system of differential equations with irregular singularity and coalescing eigenvalues. This approach presents an opening for discussing the difference between weak and strong isomonodromic deformations. In particular, the author shows how the difference between weak and strong isomonodromic deformations arises in case of Fuchsian systems, where ''weak'' and ''strong'' are equivalent to Schlesinger and non-Schlesinger deformations.
