In the present work is considered a differential equation \[ x'(t)=Ax(t) \] on the Banach space \(X\) under the assumption of well-posedness, i.e. \(A\) generates a \(C_{0}\)-semigroup \(\{T(t)\}_{t\geq 0}\) which is hyperbolic, that is \(X\) can be decomposed as \(X=X_{1}\oplus X_{2}\) so that solutions \(x(\cdot )\) starting from \(X_{1}\) (respectively, from \(X_{2}\)) decay exponentially in forward time (respectively, in backward time). The authors generalize this notion by replacing the exponential decay in negative time for the solutions starting in \(X_{2}\) with an exponential blow-up in positive time (called in the work as exponential dichotomy). They give also an example which demonstrate that although that hyperbolicity implies the existence of an exponential dichotomy the converse is not valid. Moreover, the authors introduce an approach for an unified treatment of admissibility-type conditions which allow to prove the existence of an exponential dichotomy and to obtain a complete characterization of the hyperbolicity of autonomous differential equations.
