The author of the manuscript under review deals with a homogenisation problem associated to the following variational inequality \[ \begin{multlined} \langle \partial_t b(u) , v-u \rangle_{G_T} + \langle A k(u)(P_c(u)\nabla u + \tau \partial_t \nabla u) - F(t,x,u), \nabla (v-u)\rangle_{G_T}\\ + \langle f(t,x,u)v, v-u\rangle_{\Gamma_T}\geq 0, \end{multlined} \] where \(u\) is the unknown, \(G\) a 2- or 3-dimensional domain periodically perforated with small holes; \(\Gamma\) is the boundary of \(G\). The subscript \(T\) denotes the respective space-time cylinder. The functions \(b,k,F, P_c\) as well as \(f\) are given nonlinearities and \(A\) is a scalar strictly positive bounded periodic function. Devoting the first part of the paper to show existence results and, given sufficient regularity for \(u\), also uniquness of a regularized solution, the author then provides uniform estimates in the regularization as well as in the parameter describing the size of the holes. The second part of the article addresses the limit procedure of hole size tending to zero (and simultaneously, among other things, the period of \(A\) tending to infinity). With the help of two-scale convergence techniques, the author derives a limit model involving the same nonlinearities \(b,k\) and \(P_c\) and averaged versions of \(F\), \(f\) and a suitable homogenized \(A\).
