One can find an extensive literature on nets in the reviewer's joint book with \textit{A. D. Keedwell} [Latin squares and their applications (1974; Zbl 0283.05014)]. The present authors define a geometric arc in a net. Also they define a more general object, which they call arc. A geometric \(k\)-arc in a \((k,2k)\) net corresponds to a maximal arc in the related symmetric 2-design and vice versa. In this paper the authors obtain results on cubic arcs in cubic nets.
