In his work on harmonic analysis on semisimple Lie groups, \textit{Harish- Chandra} introduced the notion of a \(c\)-function associated to a finite- dimensional unitary representation \(\tau\) of a maximal compact subgroup \(K\) of a connected semisimple group \(G\) with finite center [Invent. Math. 36, 1-55 (1976; Zbl 0341.43010)]. In this paper the authors give an explicit formula for the \(c\)-function in the case: \(G = \text{SU}(n,1)\) and \(\tau\) is the adjoint representation.
