    It has been known for some time [see, e.g., \textit{J. A. Ball}, \textit{I. Gohberg} and \textit{L. Rodman}, Integral Equat. Oper. Theory 10, 309-348 (1987; Zbl 0621.47020)] that the factorizations \(W(z)= W_ 1(z)W_ 2(z)\) of a regular rational matrix function \(W(z)\) which are minimal on a given set \(\sigma\) (i.e., for which there are no pole-zero cancellations between the factors \(Q_ 1\) and \(W_ 2\) on the set \(\sigma\)) can be described by means of left null-pole-triples \((C_ \pi, A_ \pi; A_ \zeta, B_ \zeta; \Gamma)\) containing the information on the zeros and poles of \(W\) on \(\sigma\) and their corestrictions \((C_ \pi|_{M_ \pi}, A_ \pi|_{M_ \pi}; P_ \zeta A_ \zeta|_{N_ \zeta}, P_ \zeta B_ \zeta; P_ \zeta \Gamma|_{M_ \pi})\), where \(M_ \pi\) is \(A_ \pi\)-invariant, \(\ker P_ \zeta\) is \(A_ \zeta\)-invariant and \(N_ \zeta= \text{im } P_ \zeta\), which contain the zero-pole information on \(\sigma\) of the factor \(W_ 1\) in a factorization which is minimal on \(\sigma\). In the present paper the authors take up the chore of providing explicit formulae for the factors in such a factorization.
