The solution of a time harmonic two-dimensional eddy current problem is established utilizing a domain decomposition method. The convergence of the Schwarz alternating method is studied, as well as the related computational method given by \textit{I. P. Boglaev} and \textit{V. V. Sirotkin} [Computational and applied mathematics, II: Differential equations, Sel. Rev. Pap. IMACS 13th World Congr., Dublin/Irel. 1991, 259-268 (1992; Zbl 0766.65097)]. Numerical experiments are presented.
