The authors solve the problem of quantizing general Manin pairs as quasi-Hopf algebras in the special untwisted case where the Lie algebra is \(\text{sl}_2 \otimes {C}(X)\) for a complex curve \(X\) with meromorphic differential \(\omega\), originally posed by Drinfeld. \((\text{sl}_2 \otimes k, \text{sl}_2 \otimes R)\) is the Manin pair where \(k=\bigoplus_{s \in S} k_s\), and \(k_s\) is the local field at \(s \in S\), \(S\) is the set of points of \(X\) containing zeros and poles of \(\omega\), and \(R\) is the ring of functions on \(X\), regular outside \(S\). After introducing an extension \((g, g_R)\) of the Manin pair, the authors provide a quantization of it given by \((\mathcal U_hg, \mathcal U_hg_R)\). In the construction of the quantization they use the vertex relations related to quantum groups, that they introduced previously. Finally they discuss quantizations of extensions of adelic versions of Drinfeld-Manin pairs and on automorphisms of \(\mathcal U_hg\).
