A (zero-symmetric, right) nearring \(N\) such that for each \(a,b\in N\) one of the equations \(ax=b\), \(bx=a\) has a solution is called wd-nearring. Results are given on wd-nearrings with chain conditions and/or IFP. Each element of a wd-nearring with ascending chain condition for right annihilators is nilpotent or left cancellable. So in the finite case such a nearring is the union of isomorphic multiplicative groups and of the ideal of nilpotent elements and it is possible to use it to construct PBIBDs working as in the classical construction to get BIBDs from planar nearrings. Interesting examples are added.
