The generalized inverse of a sum with radical element: Applications (Q1816935)

The author develops a sort of algebraic perturbation theory of Moore-Penrose inverses, that is, he finds conditions and formulas for Moore-Penrose inverses of sums of matrices known to have Moore-Penrose inverses and other matrices. Applications are given to results of \textit{P. Wynn} [Compositio Math. 23, No. 4, 453-460 (1971; Zbl 0239.15003)] dealing with formal power series, results of \textit{J. K. Baksalary} and \textit{R. Kala} [Linear Algebra Appl. 25, 41-43 (1979; Zbl 0403.15010)] on solving \(AX-YB=C\), results of \textit{M. Z. Nashed} [Gen. Inverses Appl. Proc. Adv. Semin., Madison 1973, 325-396 (1976; Zbl 0428.34008)] on perturbation in a more usual sense, and least squares solutions.
