The author develops a new approach to the theory of scattering and related types of Hurwitz polynomials. The new approach makes previous results [see, for example, the author, Arch. Elektron. Ubertrag. 36, 374- 381 (1982) and Arch. Electron. Ubertrag. 38, 171-176 (1984)] on scattering Hurwitz polynomials obtainable in a simpler, more compact and logical manner. The types of polynomials discussed include widest sense, strict-sense, scattering, self paraconjugate, reactance and immitance Hurwitz polynomials.
