Pin structures on manifolds quotiented by discrete groups (Q1823477)

The authors present a method for classifying and constructing bundle prolongations on manifolds of the form M/\(\Gamma\), where \(\Gamma\) is a discrete group of transformations of M acting properly and without fixed points. The spin-structures on M/\(\Gamma\) and their relation to spin- structures on M are discussed. In order to handle reflections and spinors on non-orientable manifolds there are described the eight inequivalent double coverings of O(p,q). The results are illustrated by many examples concerning especially Riemann surfaces and products of them.
