Let \({\mathcal X}\) be a Banach space with an r-smooth norm and f an additive function with values in \({\mathcal X}\). It is proved that if the series \[ \sum_{\| f(p)\| >c}1/p\quad and\quad \sum_{\| f(p)\| <c}\| f(p)\|^ r/p \] converge, then f has a limiting distribution with the centering \(a_ n=\sum_{\| f(p)\| <c, p\leq n}f(p)/p\). The problem of necessity is not considered.
