Sufficient conditions for the existence of positive definite solutions of the above matrix equation are derived and some properties of these solutions are studied, where \(n\geq 1\) is an integer and \(A^*\) is (supposedly) the complex conjugate transpose of \(A\). The convergence of the iterative scheme \(X_{s+1}= I- A^*X^{-n}_sA\) is also considered. Reviewer's remarks: 1) The quality of the English used and a number of misprints make the paper difficult for reading at some places. 2) The assumption that \(A\) is a Hermitian matrix is not justified. Moreover, then \(A^*= A\) and the requirement that \(A\) is normal is not necessary. 3) The conditions derived for the existence of solutions (Theorems 6 and 7) are only sufficient but not necessary as claimed in the abstract and in the introduction.
