Let \({\mathcal{P}}_2\) be the reproducing kernel Hilbert space of functions analytic in \({\mathbb{B}}_N\)- the unit ball of \({\mathbb{C}}^N\) -and with reproducing kernel \(1/(1-\langle z,w \rangle)\). Those analytic functions \(S:{\mathbb{B}}_N \to{\mathbb{C}}^{p\times q}\) for which the kernel \(K_S(z,w)=(I_p-S(z)S(w)^*)/(1-\langle z,w \rangle)\) is positive in \({\mathbb{B}}_N\) are called Schur multipliers. The present paper solves the Carathéodory-Fejér interpolation problem (CFIP) with mixed derivatives in the class of Schur multipliers in the ball using the reproducing kernel approach. The authors state the interpolation problem by using the notion of lower inclusive sets for the class of multi-indices \(k\) of the derivatives \(f^{(k)}\). The approach basically consists of three steps. Step 1 (Theorem 2.1) { Construction of a finite dimensional reproducing kernel Hilbert space \(\mathcal{M}\) from the interpolation data}. Step 2 (Theorem 3.3) { Let \(S\) be a solution to the CFIP and \({\mathcal{H}}(S)\) be the Hilbert space with kernel \(K_S(z,w)\). Then \(f\to (I_p-S)f\) maps \(\mathcal{M}\) into \({\mathcal{H}}(S)\) isometrically.} Step 3 (Theorem 4.1) { A necessary and sufficient condition for CFIP to be solvable is that \(\mathcal{M}\) is a positive subspace of \({\mathcal{P}}_2^{p+q}\) endowed with the inner product \(\langle f,Jg \rangle\), where \(J\) is the matrix \(J=[I_p\,\;0;\,0\;-I_q]\). Besides, it is given a full description of the solutions \(S\) to the CFIP. } The last section is devoted to present a numerical example and an application to moment problems.
