A holomorphic Riemannian submersion \(f: (M^{2m},g,J)\rightarrow (N^{2n}, \check g,\check J)\) between almost Hermitian manifolds is called an almost Hermitian submersion. Assuming that the fibres of this submersion are \((F^2,\hat g,\hat J)\) and the four-dimensional total space, \(M^4\), of \(f\) is Einstein and almost Kähler the author proves that \(M^4\) is Kähler, locally a Kähler product of two Kähler manifolds, \(F\) and \(N\). This is a contribution to the resolution of the Goldberg conjecture which remains unsolved to this day.
