In the last years the polynomials \(\psi_n\) orthogonal with respect to a Sobolev inner product have been intensively studied. This paper is devoted to the study of the polynomials orthogonal with respect to the following Sobolev inner product \[ \langle f,g\rangle=\int_{-\pi}^\pi f(z)\overline{g(z)}\, d\mu(z)+ (f(c),f'(c),\dots,f^{(p)}(c))\,A\,\begin{pmatrix} \overline{g(c)}\\ \overline{g'(c)}\\ \vdots\\ \overline{g^{(p)}(c)}\end{pmatrix},\quad z=e^{i\theta}, \] where \(A\) is a non-singular \(p\times p\) matrix, \(| z| >1\) and the measure \(\mu\) belongs to the so-called Nevai-Blumenthal class. For the polynomials \(\psi_n\) the authors study several algebraic and analytic properties (such as recurrence relations, relative asymptotics, behavior of their zeros). A remarkable point in the paper is the elegant technique used that allows the authors to give necessary and sufficient conditions of the existence of the family \(\psi_n\) even in the case when \(A\) is a singular matrix.
