As indicated in the title, the purpose of this paper is to establish some properties of Drinfeld's twisting operation for finite-dimensional Hopf algebras, with special interest in the positive characteristic case. All Hopf algebras below are assumed finite-dimensional. Let \(H\) be a unimodular Hopf algebra and let \(J\in H\otimes H\) be a twist for \(H\). An explicit formula for the left and right integrals on the twisted Hopf algebra \(H^J\) is given. It is deduced that the classes of cosemisimple unimodular, cosemisimple quasitriangular and cosemisimple involutive Hopf algebras are closed under twisting. The notion of `non-degenerate' twist for a Hopf algebra \(H\) is introduced, and a bijection between the sets of such twists for \(H\) and \(H^*\) is exhibited, based on the Miyashita-Ulbrich actions. Finally, the classification of cosemisimple triangular Hopf algebras in positive characteristic is obtained, generalizing the analogous result in characteristic 0 [\textit{P. Etingof } and \textit{S. Gelaki}, Int. Math. Res. Not. 2000, No. 5, 223-234 (2000; Zbl 0957.16029)].
