The authors present some extension of the results by \textit{B.~Kalitine} [RAIRO, Autom. Syst. Anal. Control 16, 275--286 (1982; Zbl 0493.93039)] that allows them to study the local stability of nonautonomous differential systems. An application to the algebraic Riccati equation is given.
