The author considers a wide class of self-similar infinite graphs, which are interpreted as discrete versions of fractals. Correspondingly, results regarding simple random walks and operators on such graphs can be compared with those for processes and operators over fractals. In particular, the structure of the Green functions of random walks on the above graphs is studied, with an emphasis on singularities of the Green function and, equivalently, the spectrum of the transition operator. It is also shown that the Julia set of the transition function corresponding to a symmetrically self-similar graph is either a real interval or a Cantor set. The class of graphs considered in the paper includes a number of well-known examples like the Koch, Sierpiński, and Viček graphs.
