Hyperbolicity of linear partial differential equations with delay (Q1865900)

The author considers the abstract delay differential equation \[ u'(t)= Bu(t)+\Phi u_t,\quad t\geq 0,\quad u(0)= x,\quad u_0= f, \] where \(B\) is the infinitesimal generator of a strongly continuous semigroup on the Hilbert space \(X\). The problem is studied in the state space \(X\times L^p([-1, 0]; X)\). Hyperbolicity and stability conditions for the associated solution semigroup are obtained. As an application, the effect of small delays to asymptotic properties of feedback systems is analyzed.
