Approximation properties of the most simple fractions (Q1866870)

The author studies the partial fractions, i.e. the rational functions of the type \(R_n(z) = \sum_{j=1}^n1/(z-a_j)\), where \(a_j\) (the poles of the function \(R_n(z)\)) are some points of the complex plane C and \(n\) is the fraction order. In the paper the theorems are proved which are almost similar to the Jackson and Walsh theorems on polynomial approximations, the partial Padé fractions (the simplest rational differentials) are considered and the condition of convergence of such fractions to a given meromorphic function is established.
