In this paper there are established several results related to Maxwell's equation div\(\,(-\nabla u_m+\vec{m}\chi_\Omega)=0\) in \(H^{-1}(\mathbb R^n)\), where \(\vec m:\Omega\rightarrow \mathbb R^n\) is an induced magnetic field with \(| \vec m| =1\), \(u_m:\mathbb R^n\rightarrow \mathbb R\) represents the potential of the induced magnetic field, and \(\chi_\Omega\) denotes the characteristic function of \(\Omega\). The above equation is solved both by a finite element method and on a method using unknown multiatomic points for Young measure approximation. The discrete relaxed problem is also formulated and analyzed. Some numerical examples are given to show the efficiency of the method where the conjugate gradient method combined with a linear search is applied to solve the discrete optimization problem.
