Let \(A\) be a quasi-hereditary algebra and \(M\) be an \(A\)-module. Then the length of the minimal resolution of \(M\) by modules having a standard filtration is called the \(\Delta\)-filtration dimension of \(M\), and the length of the minimal coresolution of \(M\) by modules having a costandard filtration is called the \(\nabla\)-filtration dimension of \(M\). In the paper under review the authors study the values of the \(\Delta\)- and \(\nabla\)-filtration dimensions of the standard, costandard and simple \(A\)-modules, and also the relation of these two dimensions with the global dimension of \(A\) and of its Ringel dual. In the first part of the paper the authors show that for a quasi-hereditary algebra with duality, satisfying a special condition, which the authors call the strong property, the global dimension of \(A\) equals twice the \(\Delta\)-filtration dimension of the direct sum of all simple \(A\)-modules. We remark that this result has been recently extended to all quasi-hereditary algebras with duality by \textit{V.~Mazorchuk} and \textit{S.~Ovsienko} [Adv. Math. 186, No. 1, 251-265 (2004; Zbl 1068.16007)], where one can also find a proof of the conjecture (suspicion) formulated in Subsection 2.3. In the second part of the paper the authors relate the \(\Delta\)- and \(\nabla\)-filtration dimensions of the standard, costandard and simple modules over \(A\) and over its Ringel dual, and study the behavior of the finitistic and various filtration dimensions under the truncation of the partially ordered set, which defines the quasi-hereditary structure. The paper finishes with various examples.
